Leadership Training Institute (LTI) is a leadership and community service program for local high school students held at MIT during the spring. At LTI, we believe that every student has the potential to become a leader - but leadership, like most other aptitudes, must be developed, cultivated, and practiced.

We are completely funded by donations and grants, so please consider supporting us!

Leadership Building

For 9 weeks every Sunday, we engage our students in a variety of leadership and character-building activities designed to both make the students more confident in themselves, and more confident in being a leader to others.

Community Service

Our students brainstorm and implement their own community service project, and meet weekly with their MIT student mentor to discuss their progress and receive comments and constructive criticism.

Our mentors hail from all backgrounds and majors. We are united by our shared belief in the great potential of our students and our passion for seeing them grow as leaders and realizing their community service ideas.

About Us

LTI was founded over 10 years ago with the goal of empowering local students to become leaders, while giving MIT students the opportunity to be mentors to the next generation of professionals. We are located on MIT’s campus, where we meet with the students every Sunday in classrooms here.
